Pediatric Anesthesia

Princeton Anesthesia Services provide specialized and individualized pediatric anesthesia care.   Medical procedures on a child may create a great deal of anxiety for both the child and parent.  We tailor the anesthesia for each child based on medical conditions, developmental level, and the type of procedure needed.

Before introducing the child to the operating room, we usually give the child a liquid candy-flavored medication to ease anxiety and reduce recall of an otherwise stressful day.   In addition, we frequently have smaller children go to sleep by inhaling anesthesia gases though a mask before starting an intravenous line.  Nurses caring for children before, during, and after surgery are highly experienced in caring for children.

Modern anesthesia for children has become quite safe as technology, equipment, methods and training have become quite advanced.
